Energy Stimulants

Energy stimulants work against fatigue, promote endurance and strength, and have a significant impact on our mood. Caffeine is one of the most important energy stimulants. Caffeine affects our central nervous system (CNS), promoting concentration, alertness, mental focus, making it suitable not only for athletes but also for students, schoolchildren, workers, etc. Caffeine improves our mood, provides our muscles with more oxygen, which combats fatigue and increases endurance. caffeine accelerates our metabolism, promotes the conversion of fatty acids into energy, and preserves glycogen in our muscles. Over time, our body develops a tolerance to caffeine, so larger amounts need to be consumed. Caffeine is rapidly absorbed, making it ideal for shorter strength training. Excessive caffeine intake can have negative consequences such as insomnia, trembling, irritability, depression, headaches, and digestive disorders. Caffeine is a potent diuretic and can lead to dehydration. Caffeine accelerates our heartbeat and is therefore not suitable for individuals with high blood pressure.

In addition to caffeine, guarana is the most well-known stimulant. The active ingredient guaranine has similar effects to caffeine: it enhances our concentration, alertness, improves mood and endurance, reduces fatigue, and accelerates our metabolism. Unlike caffeine, guaranine is slower to absorb and therefore has a longer-lasting effect. Guaranine is suitable for learning and longer physical activities such as running, cycling, hiking, or driving.
