Beta-Glucan, a long-chain polysaccharide (containing only D-glucose chains), has a significant impact on our immune system. Beta-1,3 and beta-1,6 glycosidic bonds form beta-glucan, and these bonds have a profound effect on the cells of our immune system: phagocytes, macrophages, neutrophils, eosinophils, and NK cells (natural killer cells), enhancing their activity against harmful pathogenic microorganisms. Beta-glucan boosts the effectiveness of the immune system by 50 to 120% in the first three days after ingestion.
