Electrolytes are extremely important for our body. They support our nervous system, regulate our body fluids and pH levels; they assist in cell processes, muscles, and nerves. Electrolytes include potassium, sodium, calcium, magnesium, and chlorides. During physical activities, we lose electrolytes, so it is important to replenish them. Deficiencies in electrolytes can lead to dehydration, cramps, and can have a negative impact on our athletic performance.
