Fitting Instructions

How to fit your SAFEJAWZ self-fit mouthguard:

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for fitting your SAFEJAWZ Intro-Series, Extro-Series, or Ortho-Series Mouthguard. For assistance with taking your Custom-Series dental impression, click here.

You will need the following:

• A Kettle
• A Bowl
• A Mirror
• Cold running water
• A Spoon

1. Boil the kettle and pour hot water into a bowl.
2. Immediately place the mouthguard into the hot water for 30 seconds. If the mouthguard starts shrinking before 30 seconds, remove it immediately.
3. Carefully remove the mouthguard from the hot water using the spoon.
4. Lick your lips and insert the mouthguard into your mouth.
5. Align the mouthguard with the centerline of your upper teeth using the mirror. Gently bite down on the mouthguard, ensuring your lips close naturally around it. Avoid biting through the mouthguard.
6. While sucking gently, use your fingers on the outside of your lips to press the mouthguard firmly against your teeth and gums for 30 seconds.
7. Remove the mouthguard and rinse it under cold, running water for 30 seconds.
8. Reinsert the mouthguard and check for a snug fit. If adjustments are needed, repeat the fitting process.
